Our client provides senior executive recruitment, interim management and consultancy to the public and private sector. They are growing their Local Government Executive Search & Selection Team in London this year, in response to growing market demand. We are keen to identify someone who can join the team as a proven business winner and high quality, creative, deliverer. The Deliverer is as important as the Business Winner; it is imperative that you make and keep your promises, whilst utilising the experience of the support teams including consultants, specialist researchers, support staff, business psychologists etc.
You will probably have a recruitment background within Public Sector Executive Search. Alternatively, you may have some other professional services background, however either way, you will be comfortable in engaging with local authority chief executives and leaders and be able to hold a conversation that isn't just about recruitment. They are increasingly making reality their strategic model of engaging with their clients for trusted advice that goes well beyond recruitment.
As part of the overall leadership team, you will proactively contribute to the continued development and success of the firm as a whole, facilitating positive interactions between practices, regions and between their core businesses: interim, executive search and selection, and business psychology. You will take a lead management role within Local Government contributing to the business planning and strategic development of the Practice. Making an impact in the market place, you will ensure at all times that our client is distinguished as being leading edge and innovative in all it does and that through relationship building, account management, marketing and thought leadership, they establish and strengthen a justifiably premium market position as a provider of trusted advice. You will lead by example in ensuring a market-leading high appointment rate with strong candidates, achieving personal fee targets, ensuring assignments are profitable and taking a personal responsibility for making things happen.
It is important to stress that the right person will be attracted to this organisation because of their team nature and collegiate approach; linked to this is that they work very closely between interim management and executive search and selection – for example, joint business development visits, joint events etc. This is a critical way in which they can add value to their clients; they value their extremely high right first time appointment rate and their very high levels of repeat business; whilst excellent delivery is the most sincere form of business development, people have to be able to engage in that context too.
You may not be a career recruiter; you may have the right skill set but perhaps you have experience in local government business development (for audit, consultancy or software sales). Our client has had a significant amount of market success from recruiting people with specific expertise in client areas. Three areas which they would like to strengthen are: Local Government Finance; Adult Social Care or Social Care more generally; Shared services or community interest company/social enterprise structures.
